He Snaps.

He continues to throw her away. He always comes back with apologies and promises that he won’t leave again.

She accepts them. She knows it’s weak. She knows she should do better. She doesn’t know what’s wrong with her. Why can’t she just choose herself for once?

It’s the same thing every time. She thinks things are going great. She finally is happy again. Then…

He snaps.

He doesn’t love her anymore. He doesn’t care about her anymore. She screams. She cries. She doesn’t think she can endure any more heartbreak. She’s sure her neighbors can hear her wailing. She’s sure they can hear her throwing herself on the floor in distress.

She begs for help. From anyone. She wants out from this misery. She wants out from this pain. But she’s stuck.

Tied to a job because she doesn’t have the financial privilege to just quit. Tied to an apartment because her lease ends in ten months. Tied to a man who doesn’t care because she’s experienced so much abandonment she must believe this time is different.

It’s not different. It’s always the same. It will always be the same. She knows that. She’s slowly gaining the strength to change things. She’s strategizing.

Her time will come.
